Description
Searles Kikuyu Lawn Seed is designed to establish a tough, attractive green lawn that can handle wear and tear and repair itself naturally. This blend includes annual ryegrass as a ‘nursery’ grass, providing fast germination to limit weed competition and soil erosion while the kikuyu establishes underneath. Once mature, the annual ryegrass naturally dies back, leaving behind a thick, lush kikuyu lawn that thrives in clay, sandy, or dry conditions and self-repairs after damage.
Benefits:
-Hard-wearing and attractive green lawn
-Tolerates clay, sandy and poor soils
-Self-repairing for long-term lawn health
-Sowing rate: 1kg covers approx. 75m²
Maintenance & Tips:
-Cultivate and reseed any uneven patches as needed.
-First mowing should be at an average grass height of 10cm — never remove more than one-third at a time and maintain at least 4cm depth.
-Performance may vary with climate, soil, and care. All Searles lawn seeds meet a minimum industry germination rate of 85%.
Applications:
-Establishing new kikuyu lawns
-Patching and repairing existing areas
